The Addiction Treatment Center Of Longmont

The ATC intensive outpatient program consists of three phases, is based upon the 12-step model and is structured to be comprehensive and specific for each client making this program unique in the Greater Boulder County Area.

Phase I focuses on basic recovery issues and group therapy for the client. The average length for this phase is six weeks. Phase I sessions are held on Monday from 6:00 to 9:00 PM and on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 6:30 to 8:30 PM. In addition to their individual treatment, ATC requires that clients attend a minimum of two self-help groups each week.

Phase II clients assume more responsibility for their own recovery program. The average length for this phase is sixteen weeks. Individualized treatment plans are created in Phase II which address issues relevant to each client’s sobriety goals. Phase II sessions are held on Monday and Wednesday from 6:30 to 8:30 PM.

Phase III focuses on continuing care of the client and is a vital component of treatment. The average length for this phase is twelve weeks. Phase III is a weekly group that provides for continued recovery support as clients and their family transition more fully into the ongoing support of the community.

ATC’s intensive outpatient treatment program provides treatment options not available with respect to a residential treatment setting. An outpatient treatment program is often the only possible solution for individuals seeking help who cannot afford or are unable to take the time necessary to commit to an inpatient treatment program. It has also been suggested that outpatient treatment provides the greatest chance for long-term recovery because the number of weeks of actual therapeutic treatment is significantly longer. Intensive Outpatient Treatment also requires the client to maintain their other life responsibilities such as family and work while they are actively involved in their respective treatment experience; a situation that the inpatient treatment experience cannot provide.
